Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

What are my options for registering for a class?
I’ve previously been admitted as a student at LBCC. Can I register for non-credit classes in WebRunner?
No. All registrations must be submitted online. Alternatively, you may call us or visit us in person to register (see contact info above).
Do I need to apply to LBCC in order to take non-credit Community Education classes at LBCC?
No, you do not need to apply to LBCC or log into any account in order to register for non-credit classes. Simply register online. You are also welcome to register over the phone or in person.
Why are there some classes that are listed in the printed schedule but not listed in the online registration form?
Once a class is full, or when the difficult decision is made to cancel a class, we manually remove that class from the available options online.
How can I find out if a class still has room or is full?
Contact the Extended Learning Registration Team at 541-917-4840 for the most up-to-date course availability.
When is the deadline for registering for Community Education classes?
You may register any time after open registration begins for that term; however, we do not offer prorated course fees for classes that have already started.
Is there a minimum age requirement for Community Education classes?
Unless otherwise stated in the course description, the minimum age to register for Community Education classes is 18.
I need to drop a non-credit class that I’ve enrolled in. What should I do?

Please call 541-917-4840 to speak with an Extended Learning enrollment specialist. If you are prompted to leave a voice message, mention that you need to drop a class and we will return your call as soon as possible.

  • Deadline for classes four weeks or less: Monday (or first business day) before the first class by 5:00pm
  • Deadline for classes 5-11 weeks: Monday (or first business day) of the second week of class by 5:00pm

We understand certain situations may arise in which it may be necessary to drop a course after the deadline. Please call us right away (541-917-4840) and we will help you with next steps

Is there a possibility my class will be canceled? How will I be notified?

Although we try our best to avoid course cancellations, there are instances in which we must make those difficult decisions. Factors such as low enrollment, instructor availability, and unforeseen circumstances affect the final decision to cancel a class.

In the event of a course cancellation, we will attempt to contact you via phone and we will leave a voice message, if possible. We will also send a message to the preferred email address that was provided on your registration form.

You will receive a full refund for a canceled class. You also have the option to switch into an alternative non-credit course.

How will I know if my class is canceled due to inclement weather?

Unscheduled closure announcements will be displayed in an alert banner at the top of the website as well as communicated with the local media. For more information, you can reference LBCC's Inclement Weather Protocols.

Could I observe a class before I register? Similarly, if I'm a registered student, could I invite a guest to participate or observe?

Only registered individuals are allowed to attend classes.
