If you are experiencing a barrier that interferes with your chances of being a successful student, we encourage you to begin this process as soon as possible. To establish accommodations, you must complete both parts one and two of the accommodation process.
Part One
Step One: Register with Accessibility Resources
Step Two: Submit Documentation or Evidence of Disability
LBCC does not assess or diagnose for any disabilities. We apply the standards for documentation requirements established by the Association for Higher Education and Disabilities (AHEAD). Students are responsible for providing current documentation or evidence of disability.
Acceptable sources of documentation for proving a student’s disability and requests
can take a variety of forms. Learn more about different documentation options.
This means you have access to your documentation already and need directions to submit
it.
I need help getting my documentation
This means your documentation is available and you need help requesting it.
This means that you do not have documentation and/or you need to provide additional information in the form of a student’s self-report.
Please allow up to ten business days for your documentation or evidence of disability to be reviewed once received and for our office to contact you to schedule an intake appointment.
Step Three: Complete Intake Appointment
- This is an interactive process to develop an accommodation plan.
- Options are available to meet in person or remotely.
Part Two
Step One: Learn How To Request And Use Your Accommodations
- Complete a training to learn how to request and use your approved accommodations.
- This is a required step to complete the intake process.
