Commencement 2024

The ceremony will be held on June 13, 2024 at 5:30pm.

Commencement will be held at the Albany Campus. The ceremony will take place outdoors on the lawn to the north of Mackenzie Hall. Seating for viewers will open at 4:00pm. Parking is in lots 1, 2, and 3, with accessible parking in lot 5.

Note: the event will follow a "clear bag" policy, where all guests may only bring a clear bag to the ceremony. We ask that all other bags be kept at home or your vehicle.

Once again, the Student Leadership Council will be hosting a party for graduates, their friends and family and staff. This will take place in the courtyard immediately after the ceremony. 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

LBCC will send invitations to all students that have graduated this year or who have applied to graduate during spring term. The invitation will be sent to the email address that students used when they applied to graduate.

Graduates will not be able to carry any personal belongings with them (mobile phones are okay). Please leave purses and bags at home or securely stored in your vehicle. The event will follow a “Clear Bag” policy wherein all guests may only bring a clear bag to the ceremony; we ask that all other bags be kept at home or in vehicles. Please remember that LBCC is a drug-free and alcohol-free campus.

Regalia is recommended but optional for the ceremony. If you choose to order, items will be shipped to LBCC to avoid extra shipping costs for students. You will be able to pick up your regalia from the Albany Campus by the first week of June.

The deadline to order is April 25. If you order after that date, shipping will cost extra, and it will be shipped to your home address.

You can order regalia by going to Jostens. Follow the instructions on the page. When you see the "Graduation Packages" options, be sure to look at the tabs above -- you can order a package or you can order just a cap and gown for a lower cost.

Yes, the special regalia for honors students are honors cords. These blue and gold cords can be ordered with your regalia from Jostens.

Yes! Family and friends are welcome to come to campus to celebrate their graduate.

You are welcome to take photos from the audience. There will be a professional photographer on site that will take photos of all graduates. Photos can be ordered from them after the ceremony.

Any student who is within 15 credits of graduating and will finish in summer or fall term can submit a petition to participate.

The event takes around two hours. There are optional activities afterward that all students are encouraged to attend and enjoy.
