Holidays
Purpose
To contribute to employee wellness and productivity by providing periodic breaks from duty aligned with several of our nation’s widely recognized days of remembrance.
Statement
Bargaining Unity Employees
Holidays for employees subject to collective bargaining agreements shall be governed by their respective agreements; failing such provisions, Board policies and administrative rules shall apply.
Management, Exempt, and Confidential Employees
The following days shall be paid holidays for contracted management, exempt, confidential employees of Linn-Benton Community College:
- New Year's Day
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- President's Day
- Memorial Day
- Juneteenth
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Labor Day
- Veteran's Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Day after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
When New Year's Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day occur on Saturday or Sunday, the Friday preceding or the Monday following shall be observed as a holiday.
Part-Time Employees
Pay for part-time faculty who are paid on a workload credit equivalent basis will not be affected by college scheduled holidays. Hourly pay for all part-time employees is paid based on a straight "hours worked" basis.
