LBCC celebrates incoming technical education students at CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day
On April 15th, 47 new students committed to pursuing their technical education degree at Linn-Benton Community College, during the national NC3 Letter of Intent Signing Day.
The virtual signing day ceremony is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to emphasize the importance of their career choice. On the day of the event, high school students were celebrated by their friends and families, college faculty and staff, industry partners and potential employers.
LBCC’s new “Roadrunners” joined a nationwide cohort of students committed to a future technical program pathway by signing a Letter of Commitment to the college of their choice and donning an LBCC hat -- similar to the ceremonies professional athletes participate in when committing to a team.

“The students will make you smile, the faculty were brilliant, the local and national business representatives were inspiring,” said Dr. David Bird, LBCC’s Cooperative Work Experience Coordinator. “When I was finished watching the program, I just sat and pondered and realized how proud I am to be working at LBCC! These are the students who will help build America in the future.”
