“Respect + Rebellion” comes to LBCC Tripp Theater, May 21, 11 a.m.

Respect Rebellion eventJohn and Ciaran of Better Angels: Political Rivals, Real Friends, will present their free talk “Respect + Rebellion” Tuesday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to Noon at Linn-Benton Community College’s Russell Tripp Performance Center, 6500 SW Pacific Blvd, Albany.

John Wood, Jr., director of Media Development at Better Angels, is a social conservative who supports an active church, views capitalism as the antidote to poverty and is working to reform the conservative movement.

Ciaran O’Connor, Better Angels Chief Marketing Officer, is a liberal who believes in an active government, supports progressive social causes and Democratic campaigns.

Although they really disagree on big things that matter, Wood and O’Connor are on the same side of a different kind of political fight; one that aims squarely at making respectful disagreement cool again. Learn more about their relationship here.

Their talk is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the LBCC Free Expression Team, LBCC Civil Discourse Club, and The Village Square's Respect + Rebellion series.
