LBCC Announces Presidential Search, Open Public Forums

The search is underway for the next president to serve Linn-Benton Community College, replacing Greg Hamann who retires June 30, 2020.

A nationwide search will be conducted, with a goal of having a new president start on July 1, 2020.

LBCC will hold three Public Forums on Wednesday, Nov. 13 for community members to provide input on the qualities, characteristics and qualifications that the college should seek in its next president:

  • Albany: Nov. 13, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Calapooia Center, Vineyard Mt. room CC-213
  • Lebanon: Nov. 13, Noon-1 p.m., Healthcare Occupations Center, room 150
  • Corvallis: Nov. 13, 4 p.m.-5 p.m., LBCC Benton Center, room 204

The LBCC Board of Education has selected the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to assist with the presidential search process. ACCT’s assistance will include providing support recruiting highly competitive candidates, working with the college Search Committee, and providing support to the LBCC Board of Education.

ACCT has conducted over 500 community college searches and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the process. ACCT’s mission is to strengthen community college governance through education, advocacy at local, state, and national levels, and exemplary search services. J. David Armstrong will serve as ACCT Search Consultant and Julie Golder, J.D., Vice President of Search Services for ACCT, will provide general oversight for the search.
