    An economist studies the distribution and production of services, goods, and resources through the interpretation and analysis of data related to economics. In pursuit of this education, students begin to understand and perceive effects with unintended consequences. This ability increases decision making skills and enhances job permanence. Skill sets that are inherent in economics degrees are highly sought after by employers, such as; gathering data and utilizing various data analysis techniques, technical writing ability, critical thinking, analytical communication of data, and recognizing behavior in relation to work, production, exchange, distribution and consumption.
